Autumn has come to Eriador. As the leaves turn from green to red and gold, the farmers around Bree-hill begin the yearly harvest, eyes trained west to gauge the severity of the winter to come. Elsewhere in Middle Earth, great deeds are afoot. Rumors have reached your ears that the dwarves have retaken Lonely Mountain from the dragon Smaug, with the help of a hobbit, no less! Distant Mirkwood seethes with spiders and creatures darker still, with only the wizard Radagast protecting the common folk. And there are strange happenings to the south, where shadow lies…

But all that is very far from home. Everyone knows that the real heart of the world is the town of Bree, and of course it goes without saying that the heart of Bree is the common room of the Prancing Pony. It is here that you are all gathered on a blustery evening, hungry for Adventure....
