153: Why is it so hard to say YES to your ADHD kid?

This past weekend we had experienced several bumpy moments with my ADHD son.

Things that we had been working on that weren't clicking the way I had hoped. Then we had a decent chunk of time where things were going WELL! It was fun, we were enjoying each other and I could see his effort. Then he started asking for some extra things. Nothing crazy, literally an extra scoop of ice cream and some sprinkles. And I could FEEL my body want to grab the "no" and stay there.

I felt an instant resistance to saying yes. This episode dives into WHY I believe this was happening. I also share how I shifted my mindset and how I moved forward after recognizing this resistance.
