By way of Christopher Nolan, The Odyssey is hitting cinemas in July, an epic fantasy action bonanza based on Homer's Odyssey. Its use of scale and practical effects harken back to the movies and stories he grew up on, including this one, Jason and the Argonauts from 1963. Featuring groundbreaking effects from stopmotion and dynomation wizard Ray Harryhausen, he considers it the pinnacle of his work, with the giant bronze statue Talos, the seven headed Hydra and of course the skeleton battle sequence. Join us this week and the next two as we explore more of the inspirations behind The Odyssey and thanks for watching our Caravan Of Garbage review.
