What if Jaime Lannister Killed Ned Stark In King's Landing

Ned winces and feels the pain blurring his vision. He trembles and tries to look up, seeing Jaime Lannister standing over him with a smile on his face. He seems a bit disappointed to have their duel cut short, but Jaime doesn’t seem upset.

Jaime: Apologies for that, but we both knew this would end this way.

Before Ned can say anything else, Jaime flicks his wrist and his sword slashes through Ned’s neck, sending his head toppling to the ground.
