Reading a green is not guesswork—it is physics. Every putt is influenced by distance, slope, green speed, fall line, friction, and gravity. Understanding how these variables interact creates more consistent green reading.
As the ball rolls, friction reduces its speed while gravity increasingly influences its direction. The longer the ball rolls, the more time gravity has to create break.
The Puttalyze Physics Engine uses these principles to calculate the expected ball trajectory.
Accurate green reading requires five key measurements:
A consistent target speed connects the correct line with the correct distance.
The Aim Point determines the starting direction. The Distance Point determines the required energy. The Flat-Surface Equivalent converts a breaking putt into an equivalent straight-putt distance, making distance control easier.
Observe → Calculate → Visualize → Execute → Evaluate
This process helps separate reading errors from execution errors, making practice more effective.
Stop estimating break. Measure the conditions and calculate the trajectory. With consistent 3 rps target speed, physics creates a repeatable relationship between line, speed, and break.
The 30-Day Puttalyze Green Reading & Putting Certification Course teaches the complete system for green reading, speed control, alignment, stroke mechanics, and more consistent putting.
